This has been a hard day and another long one. We are both struggling today with injury.
Dear old Crispys feet are wrecked with horrible Blisters on both feet. I have a monster blister on my right foot. By altering my gait to try and ease the pain I have some ankle inflammation going on. So far on this trip we have spent a fortune on compeed plasters. Ibuprofen. Gel and tablets. Paracetamol and various other medical "stuff" just to keep our feet and legs moving. We are not alone. Most pilgrims are struggling with some kind of pain or trauma at this point. Still its all part of the game and we are still loving it. Crispy has been a star. Today has been hard but she has soldiered on despite the pain.
Right enough of that self pitying nonsense.....
We left Biaona this morning and strode out to Vigo. Vigo is a large busy port and city exactly 100km from Santiago de Compestela via the Camino. A lot of pilgrims start their Camino here as you only need to walk 100km to qualify for the Compestela. For some it's the start but for us it's the start of the final leg. From this point onward we need to get at least 2 Camino staps per day tovqualify for our own Compestela. It has not been a particularly pretty walk today as it is mostly through urban areas and has involved mostly major and minor roads.
As such I have not took many pics.
Tomorrow we push onto Arcade. This should be better walking and much prettier. I'll try and get more pics tomorrow. It's only 18km to our next accommodation but we do move inland again and that means hills. Crispy cant wait. SHE LOVES HILLS.
Our pot for Prostate Cancer UK now stands at £675 and we are so grateful to everyone that has contributed. You have all been amazing and the kind words of encouragement on face tube and this blob certainly help us to push on.
Early night as we are goosed.
Bare and Crispy signing off Vigo, Galicia, Espana. Buen Camino
