The seventh wave

We are finally on the beach. The weather has finally broke and Crispy is happy. Sri Lanka has so far been amazing but the tropical weather has not been to Crispys liking. I must admit the rain has been a pain but for me has not distracted from this amazing country. The scenery, the wildlife and most importantly the people have been incredible in their welcoming. I know I say it constantly but it is the people we meet on our little trips that make the experience truly special. Sri Lanka is beautiful. It would be a great place for someone starting out travelling as it is so easy to navigate.

The weather today has been amazing. Temperarures have hovered around the 30's and clear blue skies. The humidity is still around 89% which takes a little getting used to.

We got up had breakfast the headed for the beach. We had a few logistics to sort today so around lunch we walked into town. I've given "Ruby" the day off as she's worked hard this past two weeks and deserves a rest.

After we had attended to the logistics we again returned to the beach. My little ukelele had become a magnet and is drawing quite a bit of interest. I'm thinking of starting the first  George Formby appreciation society  here in Sri Lanka. In between strumming out a few tunes, mostly for my own amusement, I braved the Ocean. It really is too rough to swim as the waves are huge but it didn't stop me having a splash in the surf. It was great fun.

After the beach it was time to get showered and head to the resteraunt as Crispys shift started at 6pm.

She did an amazing job of cooking and we and the owners family enjoyed the fruits of her labours.  After we shared a few drinks and chatted whilst i played a bit of Bob Marley on the Uke. We are now family and know we are welcome back here at any time. Like I said. It's the people that make the experience and not necessarily  the place itself.

Thank you Ethi, Anil and Nisha for an amazing time. If you ever find yourself in Tangalle call in and see them at the Wanna resteraunt. Mention Crispy and they will make you very welcome
