The story so far.................

The ongoing adventures of Bare and Crispy......

We have always been keen adventurers.

Life has been good and we have been lucky that so far we have managed to travel to many places far and wide. From the mountains of Cumbria to the Jungles of Nepal each place has been filled with its own special wonders.
Many of our travels so far have been undertaken before the rise of the interweb and have been shared with a small number of friends and family via the medium of 35mm photography. The younger ones amongst us will not have experienced the joy and excitement of sending a camera film away and waiting 2 weeks for the photograph's to be delivered with no idea if they had "turned out" or not. Or even the trepidation of putting the camera through the airport x ray machine in case it ruined the film. Ahhhh the good old days.
Our last little jaunt, however, through New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia prompted me to share our experiences via the popular medium of facetube and was very kindly received. So I have started this Blob to share our travels with our friends and any one else who cares to read it.

The story so far...............

Crispy and I started our travels in a fairly sedate manner spurred on by our love of the great outdoors. Climbing, fell walking and other outdoor pursuits were our main interest and led us to many of the wild and glorious places throughout this beautiful island home of ours.
Many a wonderful day was had among the high mountains and fells that are scattered across this country.
Most days followed a similar pattern of me leading the way, striding out into the wild with Crispy trudging on behind, cussing and swearing , panting and sweating, telling me how much she loved the exercise and the views. All this before returning to a wet tent on a sodden field for a good nights rest and recuperation. Money was tight in the early years and hotels were never an option. Even the price of hiring a caravan for the night was sufficient to send our meagre bank balance crashing down into the void.

This adventuring progressed to the next level when we decided to visit New Zealand to meet up with Crispy,s Sister who had recently emigrated there. I have never been a huge fan of flying and as we were taking the children with us we decided to make a trip of it, split the flights into managable parts and circumnavigate the globe at the same time. The furthest we had travelled prior to this was a holiday package to Majorca so it was with caution and excitement that we booked the plane tickets around the planet with no real expectation of what we would find or how we would manage.
Dubai, Bangkok, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, hawaii and Canada. All without a hitch or problem that could not easily be rectified taught us how simple travelling was and opened our eyes to a world full of adventuring.

Since that first trip we have travelled, mostly independently, to many a far flung shore and have had some great and unique experiences. Climbing the Himalaya and kathmandu, Egypt and the Nile. Living in a tree house in Southern India. Jungle trekking in Malaysia. Kayaking through mangroves in Africa. Far too many places to list.

The world is a big place filled mostly with wonderful sights and incredible people. There are so many adventures still to be had.

This is just the start....................
